Jeep Renegade Wheels: 5x110, 16-inch to 18-inch, and What to Do If You Want 19-inch

From Renegade Sport to Trailhawk — Bolt Pattern, Tire Guide, and Why Jumping Two Wheel Sizes is a Pitfall

By Equipe Wheel Studio

I did the math: going from 17-inch to 19-inch is two wheel sizes up. The tire profile needs to drop from 60 to 45 to maintain the overall diameter. A 60-profile sidewall versus a 45-profile absorbs impact very differently. And 19-inch wheels for the Renegade cost twice as much as 18-inch.

I convinced him to stick with 18-inch wheels with 225/55/18 tires. BRW 750 machined, R$ 3,400. Yokohama Advan dB tires, R$ 920 each. Total R$ 7,100. He called me a month later: "Man, I was going to spend R$ 12,000 for nothing — these 18-inch wheels are perfect."

This is a recurring case with the Renegade. The right jump is always just one wheel size. I'll explain why.

Renegade — Specifications by Version

All generations (2015-2022 and 2023+ facelift) share:

  • Bolt Pattern: 5x110
  • Hub Bore: 65.1mm
  • Original Offset: +40

The difference between versions lies in the factory wheel size:

VersionWheel SizeTire
Sport16-inch215/65/16
Longitude17-inch215/60/17
Limited18-inch225/55/18
Trailhawk17-inch off-road215/65/17 AT
S18-inch225/55/18

The "One Wheel Size at a Time" Rule

The Renegade's suspension is designed for an overall diameter of ~680mm (17-inch wheel + 215/60 tire). When you increase wheel size, you need to decrease the tire profile to maintain a similar overall diameter. A difference of 3-5% is acceptable. Beyond that, the speedometer will be inaccurate, ABS will be affected, and stability will change.

Jumping two wheel sizes (17-inch → 19-inch, for example) means:

  • Tire profile drops from 60 to 45
  • Sidewall loses 16-18mm in height
  • Impact absorption capacity drops drastically
  • Exposed wheel in a pothole cracks much more easily

This is the main reason why 19-inch wheels bend on Renegades that frequently drive on potholed streets. You're asking more from the wheel and giving it less tire to protect it.

16-inch, 17-inch, 18-inch, or 19-inch — What Makes Sense

16-inch (Sport)

If you have a Sport and want to upgrade without spending too much, stick with 16-inch or only go up to 17-inch. A nice set of 16-inch wheels (entry-level Volcano, Mangels): R$ 1,900 to R$ 2,400. 215/65/16 tires cost R$ 650 to R$ 900 each.

17-inch (Longitude / Trailhawk)

Best balance for urban + highway use. Aftermarket 17-inch wheel set: R$ 2,400 to R$ 3,400. Common upgrade: moving from original aluminum wheels to 17-inch machined BRW/Mangels.

18-inch (Limited / S or Upgrade)

The aesthetic-functional sweet spot. 225/55/18 tires still have a decent sidewall, and 18-inch wheels provide a strong presence. Set R$ 3,200 to R$ 4,800.

19-inch (Upgrade for 80% of Cases)

Only worth it if usage is purely urban and you accept paying more for tires. 225/45/19 tires cost R$ 1,000 to R$ 1,500 each — more than double the original 225/60/17. In potholes, expect rim damage. Set R$ 4,500 to R$ 7,000.

I do not recommend 20-inch wheels for the Renegade. The geometry doesn't accommodate them well, the fender rubs, and the suspension suffers.

Offset +40 — A Detail Compass Owners Don't Even Consider

The Renegade's offset is +40. The Compass's is +44. A 4mm difference outwards on the Renegade compared to the Compass.

Practical result: Compass wheels on a Renegade will sit slightly "inward" (4mm). Renegade wheels on a Compass will sit slightly "outward" (4mm). On 18-inch wheels, it's almost imperceptible. On 19-inch wheels with low-profile tires, you'll start to notice.

If you're buying wheels labeled "for Compass" to use on a Renegade, check the offset. An ET +44 will result in 4mm less protrusion than the original design.

Hub Bore 65.1 and What's Interchangeable

The Renegade shares its 65.1mm hub bore with:

  • Jeep Compass
  • Fiat Toro
  • Fiat 500X / Fastback / Pulse
  • Alfa Romeo Giulietta
  • Fiat Tipo and other Small Wide FCA platform vehicles

If you get aftermarket wheels with a 66.1mm or 73mm hub bore, use hub centric rings. R$ 40 per pair, installed on the wheel before the hub.

2026 Prices — Renegade

  • Mangels Lyric 16-inch: R$ 1,900
  • BRW 560 series 17-inch: R$ 2,800
  • Volcano RX 17-inch: R$ 2,900
  • Mangels Palladium 18-inch: R$ 4,200
  • BRW 750 18-inch: R$ 3,600
  • Replica TSW / Enkei 19-inch: R$ 4,800 to R$ 6,500
  • Mopar Performance (original Jeep): R$ 8,500+
  • Forged Rotiform / Vossen: R$ 18,000+

Common Renegade Wheel Mistakes

Jumping two wheel sizes at once. An expensive pitfall — going directly from original 16-inch to 19-inch compromises comfort, fuel economy, and suspension durability all at once.

Buying Compass wheels without checking the offset. 4mm seems small, but on 19-inch wheels, it's noticeable.

Sport springs + 20-inch wheels. A classic combo that cracks fenders within 6 months.

Ignoring that the Trailhawk has a different offset. Trailhawk wheels don't look good on the Longitude due to the off-road offset.

Before You Decide

I know the temptation to see your Renegade with large wheels is strong. But the car was designed for a balance of comfort, honest SUV capability, and an accessible price. Forcing it to become a "premium SUV" with 20-inch wheels and low-profile tires takes the Renegade out of its sensible niche.

If you just want to change them because you find the original wheels ugly (which is legitimate), stick with the same wheel size but a different design. A 17-inch machined Mangels Palladium wheel costs R$ 2,800 and visually transforms the vehicle without any mechanical changes.

If you want to go up one wheel size, upgrade to 18-inch with good quality tires. It costs R$ 3,200-4,800 for wheels + R$ 3,600 for tires. This delivers 90% of the 19-inch look with much less risk.

Test it in the simulator before deciding. Upload a photo of your Renegade, apply the wheel, and see the result. The peace of mind from avoiding a bad purchase is priceless.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Renegade's bolt pattern? +
5x110 on all versions. Hub bore 65.1mm. European FCA standard — same as Compass, Fiat Toro, 500X, Giulietta.
Can I put 19-inch wheels on a Renegade Longitude? +
Yes, with 225/45/19 tires. The fender accommodates them. What won't fit is 20-inch wheels without a lift or fender modification — they'll rub the suspension on tight turns.
Do Compass wheels fit the Renegade? +
They fit in size, but the offset is different (Compass +44, Renegade +40). They might sit "inward" from the fender. On 17-inch and 18-inch wheels, the visual difference is small — on 19-inch wheels, it might look odd.
What wheel size comes factory on the Renegade? +
Sport = 16-inch (215/65/16 tire). Longitude = 17-inch (215/60/17). Limited = 18-inch (225/55/18). Trailhawk = 17-inch off-road (215/65/17 AT).
Does a lowered Renegade with sport springs accept 18-inch wheels? +
Yes, it does. Sport springs like Eibach lower by 30mm, and 18-inch wheels with 225/55/18 tires fit without rubbing. 19-inch wheels are already at the limit — I've seen fenders touching on speed bumps.
Are used Renegade wheels worth it? +
They are if they're original FCA or from a known brand (Mangels, BRW, KR). Used wheels of dubious origin in 5x110 are a trap — there are many bad replicas on the market.
How much does a set for the Renegade cost in 2026? +
16-inch 5x110: R$ 1,900 to R$ 2,400. 17-inch: R$ 2,400 to R$ 3,400. 18-inch: R$ 3,200 to R$ 4,800. 19-inch: R$ 4,500 to R$ 7,000. Premium line (forged): R$ 12,000+.
